Before trying any professional cleaning methods, start by blotting up any excess soy sauce with a clean cloth or paper towel. Press gently against the stain to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Make sure to change your cloth or paper towel frequently when doing this, as using a single one for too long could cause the stain to spread.
Using a clean cloth, mix a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts warm water. Carefully dab the mixture onto stain, making sure you don't rub it as this could cause stain to spread. Leave the mixture to work its magic for around 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with cold water.
If the vinegar solution didn't do the job, the next step is to use a pre-wash stain remover. Use according to the instructions on the packet, applying a small amount directly to stain before rinsing off with cold water. You may need to repeat process for stubborn stains.
If all else fails, put the ballet flats into the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Make sure you use a mild detergent and no fabric softener, as the latter can actually make the stain even harder to remove. Air-dry the flats on a flat surface after washing.
