Let's face it — shoe polish stains on your wrap dress can be an eyesore (and a major hassle). But replacing a wardrobe staple isn't your only option. With some good old-fashioned elbow grease and a few simple items, you can get your trusty wrap dress clean fast.

What You'll Need To Clean A Wrap Dress

  • White vinegar
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Clothes brush
  • Clean rags

Directions

  1. Start by gathering up all the materials you’ll need: white vinegar, liquid dishwashing soap, a clothes brush, and some clean rags.
  2. Take your wrap dress and turn it inside out before dipping it in white vinegar.
  3. Once the dress is soaked, remove it from the vinegar and rinse it with cold water. Be sure to rinse it thoroughly before moving on to the next step.
  4. Put a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap onto stain and work it into the fabric with your fingers or a clothes brush. Be sure to focus on the affected area.
  5. Rinse wrap dress again with cold water. It should now be free of shoe polish stains!
  6. Allow the dress to air dry and enjoy wearing it once again.

Tips To Keep In Mind

  • Don't use hot water, as this could set the stains and make them harder to remove.
  • If the stain stubbornly remains after cleaning, try using a commercial stain remover.
  • Always check the instructions on the label of the clothing before attempting any cleaning methods.
