Step 1: Collect Your Supplies

You will need:

  • Soap and water
  • Soft cloths or sponges
  • Hair dryer
  • Q-tips
  • Non-abrasive scrubbing pad
  • Dishwashing liquid

Step 2: Scrape off Excess Shoe Polish

Using a butter knife or edge of a credit card, carefully scrape off any excess shoe polish. Be sure to work slowly and avoid digging too deeply into toy's surface.

Step 3: Wipe Off Hardened Shoe Polish

Dampen a soft cloth or sponge with warm water and soap. Gently wipe away any hardened shoe polish. Don't try to scrub too hard as it could damage the toy.

Step 4: Use a Hair Dryer

Set the hair dryer on low heat and point the nozzle at the stain. Wipe the area with a soft cloth between each blast of hot air.

Step 5: Use a Q-Tip for Small Areas

For tight corners or small areas, dip a Q-tip into a mixture of equal parts dish soap and warm water. Use the soapy Q-tip to gently rub away the shoe polish residue.

Step 6: Use Non-Abrasive Scrubbing Pad for Stubborn Stains

If stubborn stains remain, dampen a non-abrasive scrubbing pad with warm water and soap. Rub gently in a circular motion until all of shoe polish is removed.
