Removing Shoe Polish from Swimwear

Start by liberally sprinkling cornstarch over stain and allowing it to sit for 2-3 hours. This will help absorb the oily residue. After that, wet the stained area and apply a bit of laundry detergent directly to it. Rub the detergent into the fabric using a soft-bristled brush or old toothbrush in a circular motion. Rinse the fabric until all the soap is gone. If the stain is still visible, repeat process or try another product.

Using Rubbing Alcohol

If the stain persists, try rubbing alcohol. Apply a few drops to a damp cloth and gently dab it on the stain. Rinse with cold water and some dish soap. Repeat until the stain is gone. Be sure to test this method on a hidden area of the fabric first to make sure alcohol won't discolor the material.

Using Vinegar

Vinegar is a great way to clean pesky shoe polish stains. Mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 4 parts water and pour it onto the stained area. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes to an hour and scrub with a brush until the stain fades away. Then rinse with cold water and repeat as needed.

Using Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix equal parts baking soda and hydrogen peroxide into a paste and spread it on the stained area. Let it sit for 1 hour and then dab it off with a damp cloth. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. If the stain is still present, reapply the paste again and leave it on for 1-2 hours before rinsing.
