What You Need

  • Cotton swabs
  • Mild soap
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol

Step 1: Remove Any Visible Particles

Using a cotton swab, gently remove any visible particles of the polish from the lens. Be extra careful if using a cloth or other abrasive substances in case it scratches the lenses.

Step 2: Soak Lenses

Mix a few drops of mild soap with some warm water and soak the lenses for a few minutes. This will help loosen the stubborn shoe polish stains.

Step 3: Clean the Lenses

Using a soft cleaning cloth, carefully scrub the lenses in a circular pattern. Be sure not to use too much force as this could potentially damage the lenses.

Step 4: Rinse off the Soap

Rinse off any excess soap using clean water and dry the lenses gently with a lint-free cloth.

Step 5: Apply Rubbing Alcohol

For more stubborn stains, apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a cotton swab and gently rub the stained area. Be sure to rinse the lenses with water afterwards.

Step 6: Dry the Lenses

Finally, dry the lenses with a lint-free cloth. Your sunglasses should now be free of shoe polish stains!
