Materials You Will Need

  • Soft cloths
  • Dish soap
  • Spray bottle filled with cold water
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Brush

Step 1: Treat Fresh Stains

If the stain is still wet, the first step is to treat it. Use a cloth or brush to remove excess shoe polish, then spray area with cold water from a spray bottle. Blot the area with a damp cloth to lift the remaining stain. If the stain is still visible, apply a small amount of dish soap directly onto the affected area.

Step 2: Tackling Older Stains

If the stain has had some time to set in, mix together equal parts white vinegar and cold water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the affected area and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Use a soft brush to scrub the area, then rinse with clean cold water. Blot the area with a damp cloth to remove any residual moisture.

Step 3: Applying Baking Soda

If the stain is still visible, you can try applying baking soda. Sprinkle some baking soda directly onto the affected area, then spray with cold water. Gently rub the area with a soft cloth or brush to work baking soda into the fabric. Allow the baking soda to sit for a few minutes, then blot area with a damp cloth to remove mixture and remaining moisture.

With these simple steps you can help keep your Skechers looking like new, even after an accidental shoe polish stain!
