What You Need:

  • A cloth or sponge
  • Paper towels
  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar

Method 1: Sponge and Detergent

Create a mixture of liquid laundry detergent and warm water. Soak a clean cloth or sponge in the solution. Gently rub the stained area using the cloth or sponge. Ensure that you don’t rub too hard as it might leave fabric weaker at that spot. Now, rinse the stained area with warm water to remove the detergent.

Method 2: Vinegar and Water

Create a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water and pour it over the stain. Use a sponge or cloth to rub the stain gently. If needed, you may use an old toothbrush to scrub away the stain. Rinse the area with a damp cloth and then blot it dry using paper towels.

Tips:

  • You may also use rubbing alcohol or baby oil to remove the shoe polish stains instead of vinegar.
  • Always check the care labels of your shirt before attempting to remove any kind of stain.
