If you've ever gotten shoe polish on your sarong, chances are it's left an unsightly stain that can be difficult to remove. Don't worry – there are ways to remove shoe polish without damaging the fabric and restoring your sarong back to its former glory. Here are a few easy steps to tackle shoe polish stains:

  • First, scrape off any excess shoe polish with a butter knife or spoon. Be careful not to press too hard or you may damage fabric.
  • Make a paste using equal parts baking soda and water. Apply the paste to stain and let it sit for about 15 minutes before scrubbing gently with a soft toothbrush or cloth.
  • If stain is still visible, mix together 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Soak the stained area of the sarong in the mixture for about 15 minutes, then blot dry with a paper towel.
  • If the stain persists, try mixing together equal parts dishwashing detergent and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the mixture to the stain and let it sit for about 10 minutes before washing the sarong according to the instructions on the label.

With patience and the right cleaning techniques, you can successfully remove shoe polish stains from your sarong. It may take a few attempts, but as long as you're gentle with the fabric and follow the steps outlined above, you should be able to restore your sarong to its original condition.
