Instructions:

  1. Blot up as much of the shoe polish as possible with a soft cloth.
  2. Using a clean cloth, apply a dry-cleaning solvent to the stained area.
  3. After the solvent has had a chance to soak in, blot it out with a clean cloth.
  4. If the stain is still visible, mix a solution of one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent per quart of warm water.
  5. Using a cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.
  6. Rinse area thoroughly with clean water.
  7. Blot the area with a towel.
  8. Allow the garment to air dry.

Tips:

  • Be sure to test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the garment before applying it to the stained area.
  • Always work from the outside of the stain towards the center to prevent it from spreading.
  • It's best to take your garment to a professional dry cleaner if stain remains after following these steps.
