Start by blotting up as much of excess shoe polish with a dry cloth. Be sure not to rub the stain, as this can make the shoe polish further penetrate fabric.
Mix equal parts baking soda and white vinegar until you have a paste-like consistency. Then, apply the paste to the stained area.
Let the paste sit for 10-15 minutes. The acidity of the vinegar will help break down the shoe polish stains.
Using a soft toothbrush, gently scrub the stained area. You may need to reapply the baking soda and vinegar paste as you go.
Rinse the swimsuit with cold water, then hang to dry. Repeat these steps if any stains remain.
With patience and care, even shoe polish stains don’t have to ruin your favorite one-piece swimsuit. Follow the steps above to remove dreaded shoe polish stains and restore your favorite look. Good luck!
