How to Easily Remove Shoe Polish Stains from Mesh

Mesh is a wonderfully lightweight and breathable material, but it can be tricky to clean. Shoe polish stains on mesh can seem daunting, however, with the right materials you'll have the mesh looking as good as new in no time.

Materials Needed

  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Water
  • Old toothbrush
  • Soft sponge

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 teaspoon of dish soap, 1 cup of white vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water together in a clean bowl or bucket.
  2. For smudged shoe polish, use an old toothbrush dipped in the solution and scrub the affected area gently in a circular motion.
  3. Rinse the affected area with lukewarm water.
  4. You can also dampen a soft sponge with the cleaning solution and rub it over the stained area until it’s gone.
  5. Rinse again with cool water.
  6. Let the mesh dry naturally and enjoy a stain free mesh garment.
