Things You Will Need:

  • Soft cloth
  • Mild detergent
  • Dry-cleaning solvent

Instructions:

  1. Inspect the purse to determine the type of material bag is made of. Spot test any cleaning agent before using it on the entire stain.
  2. Mix a solution of mild detergent and warm water (test any cleaning agent beforehand). Apply the solution to a soft cloth.
  3. Gently dab the cloth onto stain to break up and lift shoe polish.
  4. Once the shoe polish is broken up and lifted, use a clean cloth and cool water to wipe away the detergent solution.
  5. Allow the purse to air dry. Inspect the area to make sure the shoe polish stain has been completely removed.
  6. If the stain is still present, spray a dry-cleaning solvent on a soft cloth and gently dab the cloth onto the stain.
  7. Allow the solvent to sit for several minutes.
  8. Use a clean cloth and cool water to wipe away the dry cleaning solvent.
  9. Allow the purse to air dry.
