Steps for Removing Shoe Polish Stains

  1. Carefully scrape off any remaining shoe polish from the fabric using a dull knife or spoon.
  2. Mix together a small amount of gentle detergent with lukewarm water in a bowl.
  3. Soak a washcloth in detergent mixture and wring it out.
  4. Gently rub the stained area in a circular motion using the damp cloth.
  5. Rinse the stained area with clean lukewarm water.
  6. If the stain persists, repeat steps 4 and 5 until it disappears.
  7. Allow area to air dry completely.

Additional Tips

  • Any detergents used should be suitable for use on delicate fabrics.
  • Be sure to test any detergents before use in an inconspicuous spot first.
  • Do not rub too hard, as this may cause damage to fabric.
  • Always use cool or lukewarm water to avoid shrinkage of the fabric.

Once the shoe polish stain has been removed, you can take further steps to protect your jacquard fabric such as spot treating it with a stain repellent or having it professionally cleaned.
