Before you begin the removal process, make sure you have the necessary supplies. You will need the following: white cloths, an enzyme-based laundry detergent, and a stain remover.
Take a white cloth and gently blot the shoe polish stain until no more dye is being removed. Do not scrub stain as this may cause further damage.
Fill a sink with warm water and dissolve an enzyme-based laundry detergent in the water. Place the garment in the soapy water and let it soak for at least one hour.
Once hour has passed, take the garment out of the water and apply a generous amount of stain remover to the affected area. Let the stain remover sit for 15 minutes and then rinse the fabric with cold water.
Place the garment in washing machine with like colors and set the desired temperature. Select a normal cycle and add some detergent. Wash the garment as normal and hang to dry.
