Materials

  • Dry cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Lemon juice
  • Baking soda
  • Washing machine (optional)

Step 1: Use a Dry Cloth

The first step is to remove as much of shoe polish as you can with a dry cloth. Gently dab the stain with a cloth until the majority of the shoe polish has been removed. Be sure to use a dry cloth — using a damp or wet cloth may cause shoe polish to spread.

Step 2: Use White Vinegar and Lemon Juice

Mix equal parts white vinegar and lemon juice and apply it to stain. Leave it for a few minutes and then use a dry cloth to dab it away. This should help to remove any remaining shoe polish stain.

Step 3: Use Baking Soda

If stain is still visible, mix equal parts baking soda and water and apply it to stain. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water. If the stain is still visible after this step, you can try washing headband in a washing machine.
