Method 1: Using Laundry Detergent

  1. If the stain is still wet, first scrape off any excess shoe polish with a spoon or a dull knife. Be careful not to spread it around.
  2. Apply laundry detergent on stained area. Let it sit for 10 minutes before scrubbing it lightly.
  3. Rinse the area with cold water and check if the stain has disappeared. If not, repeat the steps above.
  4. Once the stain is gone, wash the clothing as usual.

Method 2: Using Baby Wipes

  1. Gently dab the shoe polish stain with baby wipes. Do not wipe or rub it as this may cause the stain to spread and get bigger.
  2. Continue dabbing until the entire stain is removed.
  3. Rinse the area with cold water to clean it.
  4. If the stain persists, apply some laundry detergent on the stained area and let it soak for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off completely.
  5. Finally, wash the clothing as usual.

Preventing Future Shoe Polish Stains

  • Remove your shoes when entering your home.
  • Wipe your shoes with a cloth or tissue paper after every use.
  • Clean and polish your shoes regularly.
  • Be careful when applying shoe polish on your shoes.
  • Keep shoe polish away from your clothing.
