Treating the Stain

Shoe polish stains are typically made up of both oil and water-based components. To effectively tackle these stains, it's important to use a combination of techniques.

  1. First, dampen the stained area with warm water and gently rub a small amount of non-bleach detergent into stained area with a soft cloth or brush.
  2. Next, rinse the detergent away with lukewarm water. If there is still any stain remaining, apply a small amount of white vinegar to area and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Finally, rinse away the vinegar with lukewarm water. Your earplugs should now be free of tough shoe polish stain.
