Step 1: Scrape Away the Stain

Using a butter knife or spoon, gently scrape away any excess shoe polish from the stained area. Do not rub the cloth as this may spread the stain further.

Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain

Using an upholstery cleaner or a spot cleaning solution, pre-treat the stained area. Apply a generous amount to the stained area and allow it to sit for several minutes.

Step 3: Rinse the Stain

Using a damp sponge, gently rinse the stained area. Be sure to rinse away all of the cleaning solution.

Step 4: Launder the Item

Follow the laundering instructions on item's care label. Use a non-chlorine bleach if needed but, if the garment is colored, opt for a gentler alternative such as oxygen bleach.
