What You Will Need:

  • A bucket
  • Mild detergent
  • Stiff-bristle brush
  • Soft cloths

Steps to Clean Shoe Polish Stains from Converse:

  1. Mix a few drops of mild detergent with warm water in the bucket. The water shouldn’t be too hot, as it could cause permanent shrinkage in the canvas.
  2. Dip the stiff-bristle brush into the soapy solution and scrub the shoe polish stains. Be sure to scrub firmly, but not so hard that it damages material.
  3. Once the shoe polish stain is gone, rinse the affected area with clean water.
  4. Wipe wet area with a clean, soft cloth.
  5. Allow your Converse to air dry.

Additional Tips & Warnings:

  • Be sure to test a small area of the Converse with the soapy solution before you apply it to the entire shoe.
  • Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive bristles, as they may damage the material.
