Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Test this solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first to make sure it won't damage the material. If it does not cause any damage, move on to the harder-to-reach spots.
Spray stained area liberally with the vinegar and water solution. Allow the solution to sit on the fabric for a few minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Apply a few drops of dishwashing liquid onto the stained area. Rub the solution into the fabric vigorously with a soft cloth.
Use a damp cloth to rinse away the dishwashing solution. Make sure to wipe away all traces of the solution, then allow fabric to air dry.
If there are stubborn stains remaining, make a paste out of baking soda and water. Rub the paste onto the stains and leave it to sit for around 15 minutes. Then use a damp cloth to wipe away the paste.
Once all of the shoe polish has been removed, you can machine wash fabric as usual. Allow the fabric to air dry. The shoe polish stains should be completely gone!
The best way to prevent shoe polish stains on your Burberry is to take good care of your shoes. Clean them regularly with a mild soap and warm water, and make sure to store them in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
