What You'll Need

  • Washing detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Lemon juice
  • Soft cloth

Step 1: Soak the Bikini in Detergent and Water

Fill a bucket or bowl with warm water, then add a few drops of washing detergent. Submerge the bikini into the solution and leave it for about an hour to let the detergent break down the shoe polish stain.

Step 2: Remove the Stain with Vinegar or Lemon Juice

Once the bikini has been soaking for about an hour, remove it from the detergent and water solution and place it on a clean cloth. With another cloth, dab the stain with white vinegar or lemon juice. Allow the vinegar or lemon juice to sit on stain for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry the Bikini

Rinse the bikini in warm water and lay it flat on a clean towel to dry. Be sure to check that the shoe polish stain is completely gone before wearing the bikini.
