What you need

  • Absorbent cloth
  • Mild detergent
  • Cold water

Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step when dealing with scissor oil stains is to blot them with an absorbent cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stain – instead, gently press the cloth on top of the stain and lift off any excess oil.

Step 2: Treat Stain with Detergent

Once the oil has been absorbed, you can treat the stain with a mild detergent. Mix the detergent with cold water and use an absorbent cloth to carefully apply it to the stained area. Let the detergent soak in for a few minutes before blotting it out with a clean cloth.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Once the detergent has been blotted out, you can rinse the area with cold water. Again, do not rub or scrub stain – simply allow the cold water to rinse away the detergent and any remaining oil. Finally, use a clean cloth to carefully pat the area dry.
