Begin with a small amount of detergent on a cloth and lightly rub the stained area. You may need to apply more detergent in order to cover the entire area.
Allow the cloth and detergent to stay on the tie for approximately fifteen minutes before moving onto the next step.
Once the detergent has had time to work, rinse the tie off with cold water.
If the stain is still present, try using rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. Dab stain with the rubbing alcohol, then rinse with cold water once more.
If all else fails, create a solution with one tablespoon of laundry detergent and one cup of cold water. Soak the tie in this solution for about twenty minutes before rinsing with cold water again.
After following the above steps, give your tie plenty of time to air dry thoroughly before wearing it.
