What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Clean rag or cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Scissors

Step 1: Remove the Scissors Oil

Using a pair of scissors, carefully cut away any excess oil that may be stuck on your Versace item. Do this as gently as possible and try to avoid cutting into the fabric. Once you've removed excess oil, rinse the area with cool water and allow it to air dry.

Step 2: Use Dish Soap to Remove the Stain

Use a mild dish soap and damp cloth to gently scrub stain. Work in small circles and don't continue if the fabric starts to fray or discolor. Rinse the area with cool water and then blot it dry with a clean cloth.

Step 3: Attack the Stain with Vinegar and Baking Soda

Mix together a solution of one cup of white vinegar and one tablespoon of baking soda. Apply the mixture to the stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Rinse the area with cool water and then blot it dry with a clean cloth.

Step 4: Final Cleaning and Maintenance

To keep your Versace item looking its best, wipe it down with a damp cloth and gentle detergent periodically. If necessary, spot treat any remaining stains with a solution of dish soap and water. Finally, buff item with a soft cloth and store it in a cool, dry place.
