To start off, it's important to note that some oil stains may already be set in which makes the process of removing them more complicated. The best way to avoid this is to act quickly and treat the stain as soon as you notice it.

What You'll Need

To properly clean oil stains from your Vans, you'll need the following items:

  • A soft cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish soap

Step-by-Step Instructions

Once you have the necessary materials, start the cleaning process by following these steps:

  1. Blot the affected area with a soft cloth to remove any excess oil.
  2. Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water in a small bowl.
  3. Using the cloth, apply the vinegar solution to the oil stain and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
  4. Mix a solution of equal parts baking soda and water in a separate bowl.
  5. Spread baking soda solution over the oil stain and use your fingers to gently rub it in.
  6. Let the baking soda mixture sit for 10-15 minutes before wiping off with a damp cloth.
  7. If the stain persists, add a few drops of dish soap to the baking soda solution and let it sit for an additional 10 minutes before wiping it off.

With a bit of time and effort, you should be able to successfully remove any oil stains from your Vans.
