Step One: Remove Excess Grease

The first step is to remove any excess grease that may be on the trench coat. This can be done using a clean cloth or paper towel. Gently blot the stained area until no more grease can be removed.

Step Two: Apply Detergent

After the excess grease has been removed, it's time to apply a detergent to the stain. Choose one that is specifically designed for removing grease stains, such as a dishwashing liquid. Apply a small amount directly to the stained area and use a soft brush to work it into fabric. Let it sit for 10 minutes before moving on to the next step.

Step Three: Rinse and Dry

Once the detergent has had time to work its magic, rinse the trench coat in cold water. Use a clean cloth to gently dab away any remaining detergent and then hang the coat up to dry. It's important not to dry it in direct sunlight, as this could cause the stain to set permanently.

Once the coat is completely dry, check to make sure the stain has been completely removed. If it hasn't, repeat process until it is gone. And there you have it - your trench coat is as good as new!
