When using scissors, it's easy to accidentally transfer oils onto traditional dress. Unfortunately, this can be difficult to remove due to delicate fabric and intricate designs of these types of cloths. Thankfully, with right steps, you can clean and restore your dress without causing any further damage.
What You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Liquid detergent
- Soft bristle toothbrush
- Soft cloth
Instructions
- Mix together one part white vinegar and two parts liquid detergent in a bowl.
- Using the soft bristle toothbrush, apply the mixture to the stained area.
- Gently scrub at the stained area for a few minutes.
- Rinse the affected area of the cloth until the water runs clear.
- Gently dab the wet area with a dry, soft cloth to absorb any remaining moisture.
- Allow the cloth to air dry away from direct sunlight.
Once dry, inspect the area to check if the stain has been removed. If necessary, repeat the above steps until the stain is no longer visible.
Tips & Warnings
- It’s best to spot test mixture on garment before applying it to larger areas.
- Handle the fabric gently to avoid tearing or fraying the delicate material.
- Do not use scouring pads or harsh brushes as this could cause damage to the fabric.
