What You Need to Get Started

  • Tommy Hilfiger fabric with oil stains
  • Bucket
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Cleaning cloths
  • Stain remover (optional)

Steps to Remove Oil Stains

  1. Fill a bucket with cold water and add 1 tablespoon of mild laundry detergent.
  2. Soak the garment that has the oil stain for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from the bucket, rinse in cold water and squeeze out any excess water.
  4. Mix 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and a small amount of laundry detergent until it forms a paste.
  5. Using the cloth, apply the paste directly to the stain and gently rub into fabric.
  6. Rinse the garment in cold water, then repeat Steps 3-6 until oil stain is no longer visible.
  7. If the stain is still present, apply a commercial stain remover to the area and repeat Steps 4-7 until the stain is removed.
  8. Allow garment to air dry and inspect the area for staining.
