Try one of these easy solutions for removing scissor oil stains from your sweatpants:

  • Apply talcum powder directly on the stain and let it sit for a few hours. Then, brush off powder with a damp cloth and launder your sweatpants as usual.
  • Mix a tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of warm water. Soak the affected area with the mixture and then dab it with an old clean cloth. Rinse the area with cold water and dry it.
  • Mix equal parts of baking soda and dish soap into a paste. Rub it in the stain gently and leave it to sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it out with cold water.
  • Spray some hair spray on stain. Wait a few minutes until it is dry and then rub it off with a damp cloth.
  • Dab the area with rubbing alcohol several times. Then, scrape the stain off with a dull knife or spoon. Wash garment normally after the stain is completely removed.

These methods should successfully remove the scissor oil stains from your sweatpants within a few minutes of work. Remember to test a small area of fabric before treating the stain with any of the remedies to make sure the colour won't fade.
