Whether it's accidental or not, scissor oil stains can be an eyesore on any garment and can be difficult to remove. Fortunately, there are a few simple methods to clean scissor oil stains from sweaters that can help restore them to their original condition. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. If the stain is still fresh, put the sweater in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  2. Mix equal parts dish soap, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda in a bowl.
  3. Using a soft-bristle toothbrush, lightly scrub mixture onto the stained area of the sweater.
  4. Gently work the mixture in, taking care not to spread it beyond the stained area.
  5. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes before rinsing the area with cold water.
  6. Pat dry with a soft cloth.
  7. If the stain persists, apply a small amount of hair spray to it and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  8. Rinse the area with cold water and pat it dry.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to quickly and easily remove scissor oil stains from your favourite sweater. But, if the stain is particularly stubborn, consider taking your sweater to a dry cleaner to get professional help.
