Using Rubbing Alcohol

  1. Dampen a cotton pad or cloth with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Gently rub the stained area in a circular motion.
  3. You may see the stain transferring from the sunglasses onto the pad or cloth.
  4. Once you can’t see the stain anymore, switch to a clean cloth and dampen with plain water.
  5. Continue rubbing away the residual oil using the clean cloth.
  6. Dry the treated area with a soft cloth.

Using Cleaning Products

  1. Choose a lens cleaner specifically formulated for glasses or sunglasses.
  2. Spray a small amount of the cleaner onto a clean microfiber cloth.
  3. Rub cloth over the stained area in a gentle, circular motion until the stain is gone.
  4. If the stain persists, spray a little more solution directly onto the stain, wait a few seconds, and then rub the area again.
  5. Finish cleaning your glasses by rubbing the whole lens with a fresh cloth moistened with plain water.
  6. Pat the lenses dry with another clean, soft cloth.

Preventing Future Stains

  • Store your glasses in an appropriate case when not in use.
  • Make sure your scissors are cleaned regularly and kept away from your sunglasses.
  • Avoid keeping your sunglasses near cooking and beauty products containing oil.
