Step 1: Blot the Stain with a Clean, Soft Cloth

Using a soft cloth, such as microfiber, dab the oil stain gently to absorb as much oil as possible. Do not rub the stain, as this can cause the oil to spread.

Step 2: Apply Dish Detergent Directly to the Stain

Once you have blotted away as much oil as possible, apply a few drops of mild dishwashing detergent directly to the stain. Let the detergent sit for several minutes.

Step 3: Blot Again with a Clean, Soft Cloth

After the detergent has had a chance to sit, use a clean, soft cloth to blot away the detergent and any remaining oil.

Step 4: Place Garment in the Washing Machine on a Gentle Cycle

Once you have finished blotting away detergent, place garment into the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Avoid using hot water or harsh laundry detergents. After the cycle is complete air dry the garment.
