What You Will Need

  • Clean White Cloth
  • White Vinegar
  • Dish Detergent
  • Cotton Swab

Step 1: Blot With a Clean Cloth

The first thing you should do is take a clean white cloth and blot up as much of the scissors oil stain as possible. Do this gently so that you don't spread the stain farther into the fabric.

Step 2: Apply a White Vinegar Solution

Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a small bowl. Dip a cotton swab into solution and apply it directly onto the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before blotting it off with a dry cloth.

Step 3: Wash With Dish Detergent

Finally, apply a drop of dish detergent directly onto the stain. Gently rub it in with your fingertips and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. Use a damp cloth to blot away the soap and rinse the area with warm water. Allow the fabric to air dry and check for any remaining stains.

Follow these easy steps and you will be able to get rid of stubborn scissors oil stains on silk in no time!
