Step 1: Blot Up the Excess Oil

As soon as you notice the stain, take a clean white cloth or paper towels and blot up as much oil as possible. Don’t rub the stain, because it could spread the oil further and make stain worse.

Step 2: Apply Talcum Powder or Cornstarch

Sprinkle talcum powder or cornstarch on top of the stain, and leave it for at least 15 minutes. This will help absorb the remaining oil from the purse.

Step 3: Clean the Stain with Baby Wipes

Once the talcum powder or cornstarch has been sitting for at least 15 minutes, use a baby wipe to gently clean area. Be sure to use a light-colored baby wipe. This will help to avoid any discoloration of the purse.

If stain still doesn’t come out, you can repeat this process until it does.
