If your pet's bed is stained with oil from scissors, start by taking your pooch’s bed outside and shake out as much of the debris as possible. Then, clean the bed with a mixture of dish soap and warm water. Gently scrub the affected area with a soft cloth. To get rid of any remaining oil residue, gently rub cornstarch or baking soda over the stain and let it sit for several hours. Be sure to brush away the baking soda before treating the stain again.

Next, pour a small amount of white vinegar on the stain, making sure it gets evenly distributed. Scrub the surface of bed with a soft brush, focusing on the stained area. Rinse off the vinegar, then use baking soda and water to neutralize the vinegar’s odor. Finally, hang the bed out to dry in the sun.

To prevent oil stains from appearing in the future, clean scissors before using them on your pet's bed. Also, keep an eye on your pet if they’re carrying scissors or other items that could cause oil stains. By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your pet has a cozy spot to relax that looks as good as new!
