Oil stains on a parka happen more often than you might think, especially if you accidentally come into contact with scissors oil. Fortunately, with some patience and a few simple steps, you can remove these unwanted spots with ease.

Step 1: Remove as Much of Excess Oil as Possible

Before you begin the process of cleaning the stain itself, take a moment to remove as much of the excess oil as you can. Using a paper towel or cloth, gently blot the affected area to get rid of any extra residue.

Step 2: Treat the Stain With Detergent

Once you have blotted as much of the oil away, create a mixture of warm water and detergent. Put a generous amount of solution onto the stain, then start rubbing it in with a cloth or soft toothbrush. Make sure you are being gentle, as you don't want to cause any damage to the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse Off

After you have worked the detergent into the stain, make sure to rinse off any reside with cold water. If necessary, repeat the process a few times until you feel the stain has been completely removed.

Step 4: Dry

Finally, once you are satisfied that the stain is gone, take parka outside and lay it on some towels. Leave it out for a few hours until it is completely dry, then admire your workmanship!
