Oil stains can be stubborn and hard to remove, especially when they’ve been sitting on fabric for a while. When stain is from scissors oil, the oil has likely seeped down into the fibers, making it even harder to lift. But fortunately there are some easy techniques you can use to get rid of old scissors oil stains from your pants.

What You’ll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Baking soda
  • Toothbrush
  • Soft cloth

Instructions:

  1. Start by applying a generous amount of white vinegar to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. The vinegar will help to break down the oils and make them easier to lift.
  2. Next, add a small amount of dish soap over area and let it sit for a few more minutes.
  3. Mix a solution of 1 part baking soda and 2 parts water. Dip a soft bristled toothbrush into the mixture and scrub the stain in a circular motion. This will help to lift the oils out of the fabric.
  4. Rinse area with warm water and a soft cloth.
  5. To finish, apply a small amount of dish soap to the area and gently rub it in with a damp cloth. Rinse area again with water and dry it with a clean cloth.

Once you’ve finished, you should be able to see a big difference in the appearance of your pants. The scissors oil stain should be significantly reduced, or even completely gone!
