Although scissors oil stains can be tricky to remove, they are not impossible to remove. If you don't know what to do, then follow these steps:

  • Act as quickly as possible! The sooner you treat the stain, the easier it will be to remove.
  • Gently scrape off any excess oil on the stained area with a spoon.
  • Soak the affected material in warm water and 1/3 cup laundry detergent for 30 minutes.
  • Scrub the area with a soft brush or toothbrush.
  • Rinse stained area thoroughly with cold water to prevent oil from setting in.
  • Apply a small amount of laundry pre-wash stain remover and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
  • If the stain still remains, repeat the process one more time.

After following the steps above, the scissors oil stain should be gone. However, if the stain still persists, then it is best to seek professional help.
