When scissors oils spills onto grass, it can make the area look unattractive and can even cause the surrounding grass to die. To get rid of scissors oil stains, you need to first identify the source of the spill. Once you’ve found the source, you can then move forward with your clean-up.

Step 1: Rake the Area

Using a rake, remove any excess material from the stained area. Don’t forget to rake area around the stain as well, as this will help to reduce the spread of the oil.

Step 2: Treat the Area with Detergent

Mix one part detergent (such as dish soap or laundry detergent) with four parts water. Using a spray bottle, apply the mixture directly to the stained area. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes before continuing.

Step 3: Scrub with a Brush

Using a stiff brush, scrub the stained area to loosen the oil. Be sure to scrub in a circular motion, working from the outside of the stain inwards. Once you’ve finished scrubbing, let the detergent mixture sit for another 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: Rinse the Area

Using a hose, hose down stained area to remove any loosened dirt and debris. If stained area is still visible, repeat steps 1-3 until it’s no longer visible.
