Getting rid of oil stains from scissors on headbands doesn't have to be difficult. Here are some step-by-step instructions that will help you remove these unsightly spots quickly and easily.
Use a soft cloth to gently blot stained area. This will help remove any excess oil from the headband's surface. Do not scrub or rub the oil stain as this may cause the stain to spread further.
Mix laundry detergent with warm water and create a thick lather. Apply the lather to the stained area using a soft cloth and let it sit for several minutes. Then, rinse the headband with cold water and use a paper towel to gently blot away the soap residue.
Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth and gently rub it into the stained area. Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit on the stain for several minutes before blotting it up with a paper towel or clean cloth.
Mix two parts white vinegar with one part water and apply the solution to the stained area. Let vinegar mixture sit for several minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Rinse the headband with cold water and blot it dry with a paper towel or soft cloth. Air drying is best, but you can also place the headband in dryer for a few minutes on low heat.
By following these simple steps, you can easily clean oil stains from scissors off of your headbands. With a bit of patience and a few cleaning supplies, your headbands will be looking good as new in no time!
