To get rid of oil stains on your Hanbok, begin by assessing the size of the stains. If they are large and prominent, you may want to enlist help of a professional dry cleaner. But if they're small, then you can easily remove them at home.

To clean the stain yourself, start by dabbing a cloth in distilled water and blotting the stain lightly. Avoid using too much water, otherwise, you risk causing further damage. Once you’ve dampened the area, apply a few drops of liquid dish soap directly to the oil stain and use your fingertips to rub it in gently. Add a bit more water as needed to work up a lather. Finally, rinse the soap off with a damp cloth and let the Hanbok air dry naturally.

It’s important to note that the safest and most effective way to remove tough oil stains from delicate material of Hanbok is to fill a sink with lukewarm water and add one tablespoon of mild laundry detergent. Soak the stain for 30 minutes and then rinse it out with cold water. Hang the garment to dry and check for any remaining traces of stain before laundering as usual.
