Step 1: Absorb Up the Oils

Before you begin cleaning process, literally soak up all the excess oil from the fabric. This might involve using a dry cloth and pressing it firmly against the stained area. All the remaining fluids should seep into cloth and out of the fabric.

Step 2: Dedicate a Stain Removing Spot

When treating oil stains it’s important to dedicate an area or a spot to this activity. This is to make sure that you don’t spread the oil across the fabric. So designate an area and start working away.

Step 3: Apply a Cleaning Agent

Next step is to apply an oil solvent based cleaner onto the area. Make sure to do a patch test in an inconspicuous area to make sure it doesn’t discolor the fabric. Follow the instructions on the product label and then you’ll be ready for the next step.

Step 4: Blot and Wipe Stain

Once cleaner's been applied, gently blot and press the stained spot. Avoid rubbing fabric as it might damage the Habutai’s texture. Then wipe off the excess cleaner by using a damp cloth.

Step 5: Rinse It Out

The final step is to give fabric a good rinse. Use a little shampoo or detergent as it will loosen up the stain better. Rinse out with cold water and continue doing so until the fabric looks visibly cleaner.

Wrapping Up

If done right, you should be able to get rid of oil stain with no problem at all. Have fun and enjoy your freshly cleaned Habutai fabric!
