Using Cornstarch and Water

The best way to go about removing scissors oil stains from your evening gown is by using a cornstarch and water mixture. The cornstarch acts as a mild abrasive, while the water helps to dilute the oil. To create this mixture, mix three tablespoons of cornstarch with one tablespoon of water until it reaches a paste-like consistency. Once the paste is ready, apply it directly to the stain.

Gently rub the paste over the stain in a circular motion until the paste has been completely absorbed. Let it sit on the stain for several minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. After the paste has been removed, use a paper towel to blot away any remaining oil or water.

Using White Vinegar

White vinegar is also an effective way to remove scissors oil stains from your evening gown. Begin by pouring a small amount of white vinegar onto a cloth or rag and dab it onto the stained area. Gently rub the cloth or rag in a circular motion over the stain until vinegar begins to absorb the oil.

Once the oil has been absorbed, rinse the area with lukewarm water and blot it dry with a paper towel. Repeat these steps as needed until all of the oil has been removed.
