One of the most effective and common methods is to use detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Mix the detergent with lukewarm water, and then soak the material in solution for 15 minutes. Afterward, rinse the fabric with lukewarm water and press any excess moisture away with a soft cloth.
Another method for removing scissor oil from cotton piqué is to mix equal parts vinegar and lukewarm water and apply the mixture to the stained area using a soft brush. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse the affected spot with lukewarm water and press any remaining moisture out. This method is particularly effective on light-colored fabrics.
Using a combination of lemon juice and baking soda is a good way to remove scissor oil from cotton piqué as well. First, mix one part lemon juice with two parts baking soda and stir until it forms a paste-like consistency. Apply paste to the stained area and leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water and pressing dry with a soft cloth.
If the stain persists after trying the methods listed above, you may need to take the fabric to a professional cleaner for further treatment.
It's best to avoid using any harsh chemical cleaners on cotton piqué, as they may damage the fabric. Stick to gentle detergents specifically designed for delicate fabrics instead.
