Cotton oxford is a strong and durable fabric, so it's no wonder why it's often used in clothing, such as button up shirts. If you have scissors oil on your cotton oxford fabric, don't panic! It's not too late to restore the fabric to its original state.

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Start by blotting the stain with a white cloth or paper towel. It's very important to use a white cloth or paper towel, as colored materials can bleed onto the fabric. You want to remove as much of oil as possible. If a stain remains, move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Apply Stain Remover

After blotting the stain, apply a stain remover specifically designed for removing oil stains. Spray or dab the remover directly onto the stain, making sure to follow the instructions on the remover bottle. Allow the remover to sit on stain for at least 10 minutes before rinsing off.

Step 3: Rinse the Stain

Once the stain remover has had time to work its magic, rinse the area with cold water. Make sure to rinse until the soap residue is gone. Avoid using hot water, as it can cause the stain to set.

Step 4: Wash Fabric

After rinsing stained area, throw fabric in the washing machine. Use a gentle cycle with cold water and a mild detergent. To prevent shrinking, don't dry fabric yet. Instead, hang it to dry.

Step 5: Check for Stain

Once the fabric has finished drying, check to see if the stain is gone. If not, repeat Steps 2-4 until the stain has disappeared.
