2 Simple Steps to Remove Scissors Oil Stains from Cotton Lawn

If you accidentally get scissors oil stains on your favorite cotton lawn clothing, don’t panic - there is an easy way to remove them. Here’s a simple two step process you can use to quickly restore your garment to its original beauty.

  1. Start by blotting up as much of the oil as possible with a paper towel or cloth.
  2. Mix a solution of delicate detergent and cold water in a bucket and soak the stained area in it for 30 minutes. Then launder according to normal care instructions.

If the stain persists, repeat the soaking process, but this time add a teaspoon of an enzyme-based cleaning product, such as borax, to the solution. Then, launder once more.

To prevent damage to the fabric, never put scissors oil-stained cotton lawn in dryer until you are positive that stain has been removed.
