Stains can be difficult to remove, especially those caused by scissors oil. If you’ve found yourself with a pesky stain on your favourite cotton chambray shirt, don’t panic! With a few simple steps, you can get your shirt looking good as new.

What You Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Shaving cream
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Clean cloth
  • Bowl

Step by Step Process:

  1. Take the stained area of the shirt and soak it in a bowl of white vinegar.
  2. Let it soak for 1-2 hours so that the vinegar can penetrate the fabric and remove the dirt.
  3. Remove the shirt and rinse it out with cold water.
  4. Mix a small amount of dish soap with water to make a paste.
  5. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Take a clean cloth and wet it with rubbing alcohol.
  7. Gently rub the affected area with the cloth until the stain is removed.
  8. Rinse the area with cold water to remove any remaining soap or residue.
  9. If stain is still visible, apply a small amount of shaving cream and rub the area for a few minutes.
  10. Rinse the area again and let the shirt air dry.

Tips and Warnings:

  • Do not scrub the stain too hard, as this could cause damage to the fabric.
  • If the stain is not coming out, try soaking the fabric in white vinegar longer.
  • Always test any cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first.
  • Be sure to use cold or lukewarm water, as hot water may cause the fabric to shrink.
  • Do not put the fabric in the dryer until you are sure that the stain is completely gone.
