What you will need:
- Sponge or soft cloth
- Mild dishwashing detergent
- White vinegar
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Old toothbrush (optional)
Steps to Clean Scissors Oil Stains on Cotton Canvas:
- Dab the stain with a sponge or soft cloth and mild dishwashing detergent.
- Rinse off the affected area with cold water.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and liquid laundry detergent in a bowl.
- Dab the stain with solution and let it sit for 5 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
- Repeat steps 1 - 4 as needed.
- If stain still persists, mix equal parts hydrogen peroxide and dishwashing detergent together, then dab the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and repeat as needed.
- If the stain still won’t budge, use an old toothbrush to gently scrub stained area with the hydrogen peroxide and detergent mixture. Be careful not to damage the fabric.
- Finally, rinse off the stained area with cold water. Allow fabric to air dry completely before wearing.
