- Put some paper towels or an old rag which absorbs oils easily and put it under the oily part of the belt so the cleaning solution will not spill on the other side of belt.
- Float some detergent or soap solution over belt and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Use a soft-bristled brush such as a toothbrush and gently scrub stained part of the belt.
- If the stain still remains, mix equal parts of rubbing alcohol or white vinegar with some warm water and refer to step 2.
- Rinse the belt with clean warm water, then wipe with a dry cloth and let it air dry.
