Start by making a cleaning solution with a few common household ingredients. In a bowl, mix together 6 tablespoons of baking soda, ¼ cup of white vinegar, and 2-3 drops of mild liquid dish soap. Whisk together until you get a foamy paste.
Before you start cleaning the bandana, prep it. Run the bandana through a washing machine cycle with cold water. This will help get rid of dirt and other debris from the bandana fabric.
Once the bandana is prepped and ready, apply the cleaning paste that you made earlier. Concentrate the paste on the areas where the oil stains are present. Gently massage the paste into the fabric and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
After the paste has been left to work its magic, rinse the bandana off with cold water and carefully work the paste out of the fabric. If necessary, scrub the affected area gently with an old toothbrush. Once paste is completely removed, toss the bandana in the washing machine with a mild detergent and then dry it on the lowest heat setting.
Removing oil stains from your bandana is easier than you might think. Make sure you have all supplies you need before starting and always use mild detergents and low heat settings when washing and drying. With these simple cleaning tips, you’ll have your favorite bandana looking good as new in no time!
